Carnegie Mellon is one of only 12 universities in the U.S. invited to the 2016  World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, and three HCII faculty members are among the university's delegation.

Held each January, the WEF's annual meeting engages the world's top leaders in collaborative activities focused on shaping global, regional and industrial agendas. This year's meeting, organized around the theme the "Fourth Industrial Revolution," is designed to prepare decision-makers for a future of exponentially disruptive economic, industrial and societal change.

The HCII's Chris Harrison and Amy Ogan will participate in the session, "CMU Ideas Lab: The Promise and Peril of Omnipresent Sensors," on Thursday, Jan. 21, with Associate Professor of Engineering Anthony Rowe and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Public Policy Lorrie Cranor.

Justine Cassell, HCII professor and associate dean of technology strategy and impact in the School of Computer Science, will serve on six panels, "Women in Science," "The Virtual Peer," "Mastering the Future: Managing Disruption," "Human Dignity in Global Supply Chains," "Infusing Emotional Intelligence Into AI," and "Staying Human."

The WEF's annual meeting began today and runs through Saturday, Jan. 23. Read more about CMU's participation on the CMU News website.
