DataSquid Enters Into Partnership With Public Insight

DataSquid

HCII startup DataSquid Inc has entered into a partnership with Public Insight, a benchmarking platform that maximizes the utility of public data for regional discovery, competitive intelligence and decision support.

Founded by Ph.D. student Jeff Rzeszotarski and Assistant Professor Aniket Kittur, DataSquid uses real-world physics to make data fluid and responsive, letting people sift, sort, stack and stratify data with their fingers. The application unchains data from desktop computers and Excel, letting analysts manipulate data on their iPads. In DataSquid, each row of data becomes a physical object that responds to touches easily and fluidly.

According to Public Insight, the partnership will allow researchers and data managers to construct data marts for its subscribers, who will be able to interact with and share their data seamlessly and on demand.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Public Insight to help customers understand the landscape of their data more easily and intuitively than ever before,” Kittur said.

The DataSquid application will be launched initially as an iOS application at the end of March, with the browser release, Public Insight Scout, scheduled for soon thereafter.
