"Transforming Human Interaction with our World Through the Internet of Things"
The next paradigm shift in the Internet will be ability to address, sense and control literally anything in the physical world. Described as The Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of Everything (IoE) and the Industrial Internet, it promises to unite the power of software with physical objects through the Internet providing unprecedented opportunities to transform our everyday personal and business experiences. However, understanding the use cases, technical components and systems, business process and practical design required to create effective connected solutions can be challenging. In this lecture we will clarify these subjects and more leaving the attendee with a clear sense of what is needed to fundamentally transform how we discover, interact and understand our world.
Speaker's Bio
Chad Jones is a entrepreneur, thought leader and angel investor across multiple industries. His unique vision takes big ideas from inception through execution resulting in highly profitable outcomes including six exits to companies such as Microsoft, VMware and Intel. He has over eighteen years' experience driving strategic initiatives for start-ups and F50 companies and has traveled the planet discussing a vision for a better world through technology. As Vice President, Internet of Things Strategy at LogMeIn, Mr. Jones created and drove the strategic product roadmap for Xively, oversaw GTM strategy as well as evangelizing Xively's vision for the Internet of Things. He has served as Vice President of Product Management and Strategy at DynamicOps (acquired by VMware), Vice President, Product Management at Neocleus (acquired by Intel), Sr Director, Product Strategy at Softricity (acquired by Microsoft) and Sr. Product Manager with the Windows Client Team at Microsoft among others. He is currently CEO of Virtual Potential Advisors providing consulting to start-ups and large companies alike as well as advising on angel investments in multiple industries including technology, beer, wine, alternative energy, next generation construction transparent fastners, sporting goods and wireless electricity.
