Pay type:
Either pay or credit.

We are looking for undergraduate research assistants to help run experiments and analyze data this summer in our research project on information sharing. Undergraduates with an interest or background in psychology and experimental design would be most suited for and interested in this job.

Information transparency could facilitate collaboration and innovation. It is also an emerging trend in Internet applications. We are studying how people share information in different contexts (e.g., using social network sites or conducting intelligence analysis) and informing design to support better information transparency.

The research assistants on this project will help conduct lab experiments and web studies to investigate what kinds of information people want to share with others and how to design interfaces or systems to satisfy users’ needs.

Ideally, we seek someone who has experience helping with psychology experiments, sufficient experience or coursework in basic psychology and behavioral research methods, and some level of statistical skills. This is a paid position and can be part time (10–20 hours per week) or full time (40 hours per week) during the summer with the opportunity to continue in the fall.

If you are interested, please send your resume (with major GPA) and a brief statement describing your background and interests to ruoguk [at] cs [dot] cmu [dot] edu with the job title in the subject line of the email.
