Evaluation

As our team pursued our final concept, we went through iterative process to develop and finalize our concept into a refined design. During the process, we conducted usability studies such as Cognitive Walkthrough and Think Aloud to evaluate our interface and system. Findings from those studies were analyzed and implemented in the consequent versions as they evolved into our final solution.

Cognitive Walkthrough

To evaluate our design more formally, we conducted a cognitive walkthrough of our initial set of screen mock-ups; going through a set of tasks and seeing if a new user would know what to do. This revealed affordances that needed to be made more apparent.

Think Aloud

Through a series of think aloud studies of our interactive prototype, we were able to evaluate which aspects of our design needed more refinement. With no explanation of the interface, participants interacted with photos they had taken themselves, preparing to share them. Due to time contraints, not all design iterations were implemented in the interactive prototype, so the full design flow was not tested in these studies. However, we found that the design was highly learnable, intuitive and fun.
