Think Aloud
Throughout the design phase, the CMU team had the ability to arrange four think-aloud usability sessions with three hospital locations, testing the interface with 2-4 users at each location.

The think-aloud usability evaluations were performed over three iterations of the paper prototype. For each session, the CMU team created a task script to expose specific functionality or features. After each session, the team revisited the design, making changes where appropriate and rethinking various elements of the design direction. Once the design had been iterated, additional think-aloud sessions were scheduled to test the new implementations and gain additional feedback.
The continuous nature of think-aloud testing and design iteration allowed the CMU team to develop a solid design that is supported through real user feedback and continuous evaluation.
