Ideation and CritiquesWe held several brainstorming sessions to generate design ideas for improvements to current calculators and new ways to address the user needs we uncovered during our user research. We conducted design critiques of these ideas to improve the ideas and select which ones we wanted to carry further. SketchingWe sketched out screen mockups and fit them into our scenarios of use. For each scenario, we wrote out the steps users would have to take in order to fulfill their goals. |
ScenariosPhyllis teaches how to derive a line of best fit from data.
Loretta has introduced the concept of linear equations and uses the calculator to explain how the linear graph changes as the slope and intercept (m and b) values change.
Loretta is teaching the concept of variables and how they help in solving word problems. The calculator allows Kelli to use a table to express the word problem concepts in terms of X.
Loretta is introducing the concept of factoring trinomials to Kelli. Kelli uses the calculator to experiment with factoring problems.
